According to the United States Census Bureau's Survey of Construction, the percentage of shares of new homes with two or more stories have fallen from 55%(2017) to 53%(2018). In comparison, new build homes of one story grew from 45% to 47% in 2018. In addition, most of the two or more story homes were proposed to be built in the coasts of the country (east and west).
